Visiting Assistant Professor of French
Mansouria Geist studied in France, where she graduated in History from the Sorbonne (Paris IV) and in International Relations from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po); she also received a Diplôme d'études approfondies (DEA) for which she researched and wrote a dissertation on Education in French North Africa. From Science Po, she received a doctorate on the United States and the Algerian War of Independence. Mansouria Geist studied also at the Institut des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Langues O) where she earned degrees in Arabic language and Islamic Civilization. In the United States, she earned an M.A at the Institute of French Studies at New York University.
Her fields of interest include French national and international affairs, immigration, and Islam. She is currently completing a book on the relations between France and the United States, 1942-1962.
